Our approach

Flooring scopes depend on site and finish conditions

Flooring work can involve different materials, substrates, transitions, room turnover, and protection requirements. We ask whether the opening supports a new build, an occupied renovation, or a multi-location program and what the contractor expects the hire to manage.

Our approach

Project, estimating, and field positions

We recruit flooring Project Managers, estimators, Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and foremen. Searches focus on the person's responsibility for takeoffs, procurement coordination, installation sequencing, or field execution.

Our approach

Evaluate preparation and installation planning

We discuss how candidates assess substrates, organize access, coordinate adjoining trades, and protect completed areas. Relevant experience with phased work, punch lists, and turnover helps us understand the fit for the specific project.

Our approach

Local coverage and full-time travel candidates

We have a strong candidate network across the markets we cover, including local flooring candidates willing to travel 100%. Nationwide professionals willing to travel 100% can be considered for travel-based construction assignments.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions.

Who do you recruit for in commercial flooring?

We recruit for commercial flooring contractors and construction teams hiring project and field leaders. We tailor outreach to the finish scope and the employer's delivery model.

Which flooring construction roles can you fill?

Our searches include Project Managers, estimators, Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and foremen. We can emphasize estimating, field installation, or multi-site coordination.

How do you evaluate a flooring candidate?

We ask about project settings, finish scopes, substrate preparation, installation sequencing, and protection of completed work. The candidate's responsibilities are compared with the employer's specific opening.

Can you recruit flooring staff for travel assignments?

Yes. Local candidates willing to travel 100% and nationwide candidates willing to travel 100% can be considered. We confirm the expected location and travel commitment before an introduction.

What should an employer share about a flooring project?

Describe the material scope, site conditions, phasing, adjacent work, and turnover expectations. If the role supports repeated locations or occupied spaces, include that context as well.

Is a flooring search billed upfront?

There is no upfront professional fee for a standard contingency search. The signed recruiting agreement sets the conditions and fee for a placement.

Relocation and travel

Relocation Placements

Over the last few years we've filled more and more positions with candidates willing to relocate on their own, or with minimal initial relocation help from the client. We always fill with local candidates when possible. But relocation placements are a specialty of ours, and we know how to make them work for clients who are committed to filling the position.

Placement protection

12-month replacement guarantee

On standard (non-reduced) fee agreements, every placement comes with a 3-month free candidate replacement guarantee. From months 4 to 12, we'll still replace the candidate at half off. That's a full year of coverage. We've never needed to use the extended guarantee.

Extended coverage applies to eligible placements billed and paid at the full standard fee under the signed client recruiting agreement.

Three-Month Free Replacement

If a placement billed and paid at the full standard fee separates for a qualifying reason within the first three months, Construction Headhunters will conduct one replacement search for the same or substantially similar position at no additional professional recruiting fee.

Months Four Through Twelve: Half-Fee Replacement

If the hire separates during months four through twelve, the client receives one replacement at half the standard professional fee. Applies only to original placements billed and paid at the full standard fee.

Eligibility, exclusions, notification requirements, payment requirements, and replacement terms are governed by the signed client recruiting agreement.
