Our approach

Integrated systems, shared project decisions

MEP delivery brings separate systems together within the same building, so teams must coordinate routes, equipment space, access, and installation sequence. We define whether the opening owns several disciplines or works across an integrated project team before identifying candidates.

Our approach

Roles for combined MEP responsibility

We recruit MEP Project Managers, Superintendents, estimators, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and preconstruction leaders. Candidate outreach reflects the breadth of the role and the project types where the employer needs integrated systems experience.

Our approach

Assess coordination beyond a single trade

We ask how candidates have managed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing interfaces, addressed field conflicts, and communicated design or sequencing changes. We distinguish integrated MEP responsibility from experience limited to one of those trades.

Our approach

Local MEP talent and full-travel candidates

Searches can reach a strong local candidate network in the markets we cover, including local professionals willing to travel 100%. Nationwide candidates willing to travel 100% are available for consideration when a project calls for a full-time traveler.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions.

How is MEP recruiting different from a single-trade search?

An integrated MEP role may oversee or coordinate several building-system scopes rather than one trade alone. We confirm the project's team structure so the search reflects the actual breadth of responsibility.

Which MEP construction roles do you recruit?

We recruit MEP Project Managers, Superintendents, estimators, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and preconstruction leaders. We match the position's scope to candidates with relevant combined-systems experience.

What do you evaluate in an MEP candidate?

We discuss system interfaces, coordination responsibilities, field problem solving, and the candidate's role in sequencing work. We also clarify whether their background spans multiple disciplines or is centered on one trade.

Can you recruit MEP staff for projects that require travel?

Yes. We consider local candidates willing to travel 100% and nationwide candidates willing to travel 100%. We discuss the project location and expected travel arrangement before sharing a profile.

Should I use this page or a single-trade search?

Use an MEP search when the hire must coordinate combined mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes. For a role limited to one system or contractor trade, we can focus the search on that specialty instead.

Is a contingency MEP search subject to an upfront fee?

There is no upfront professional recruiting fee for a standard contingency search. Placement terms are set by the signed recruiting agreement.

Relocation and travel

Relocation Placements

Over the last few years we've filled more and more positions with candidates willing to relocate on their own, or with minimal initial relocation help from the client. We always fill with local candidates when possible. But relocation placements are a specialty of ours, and we know how to make them work for clients who are committed to filling the position.

Placement protection

12-month replacement guarantee

On standard (non-reduced) fee agreements, every placement comes with a 3-month free candidate replacement guarantee. From months 4 to 12, we'll still replace the candidate at half off. That's a full year of coverage. We've never needed to use the extended guarantee.

Extended coverage applies to eligible placements billed and paid at the full standard fee under the signed client recruiting agreement.

Three-Month Free Replacement

If a placement billed and paid at the full standard fee separates for a qualifying reason within the first three months, Construction Headhunters will conduct one replacement search for the same or substantially similar position at no additional professional recruiting fee.

Months Four Through Twelve: Half-Fee Replacement

If the hire separates during months four through twelve, the client receives one replacement at half the standard professional fee. Applies only to original placements billed and paid at the full standard fee.

Eligibility, exclusions, notification requirements, payment requirements, and replacement terms are governed by the signed client recruiting agreement.
