Our approach

Safety coordination at the project level

We recruit Safety Coordinators and field safety professionals for general contractors, construction managers and specialty contractors. We define the coordinator's reporting line, jobsite presence, project phase and relationship with Safety Managers and field leadership.

Our approach

Field communication and program support

Candidate discussions cover site observations, orientation, toolbox talks, incident documentation, corrective action follow-up and coordination with Superintendents and trade partners. We clarify the role's authority and avoid confusing coordination duties with the broader ownership of a Safety Manager.

Our approach

Direct outreach and travel readiness

Our network and direct outreach reach safety professionals, including candidates not actively applying. We consider local candidates and professionals willing to travel 100% for assignments, confirming site conditions, schedule and travel needs before introductions.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is the difference between a Safety Coordinator and a Safety Manager?

A Safety Coordinator commonly supports jobsite implementation and documentation, while a Safety Manager may own broader program leadership. Actual authority varies, so we establish the employer's scope before searching.

How do you evaluate Construction Safety Coordinator candidates?

We discuss field presence, safety communication, documentation, hazard awareness and coordination with project leadership. Role requirements and credentials are confirmed with the employer.

Do you recruit for specialty construction safety positions?

Yes. We consider candidates from general contracting, heavy civil and specialty trades. Relevant safety and field experience should fit the project's work.

Can Safety Coordinators travel to projects?

Yes. We consider local professionals and candidates willing to travel 100% for project assignments. Site coverage and travel expectations are discussed before introductions.

Relocation and travel

Relocation Placements

Over the last few years we've filled more and more positions with candidates willing to relocate on their own, or with minimal initial relocation help from the client. We always fill with local candidates when possible. But relocation placements are a specialty of ours, and we know how to make them work for clients who are committed to filling the position.

Placement protection

12-month replacement guarantee

On standard (non-reduced) fee agreements, every placement comes with a 3-month free candidate replacement guarantee. From months 4 to 12, we'll still replace the candidate at half off. That's a full year of coverage. We've never needed to use the extended guarantee.

Extended coverage applies to eligible placements billed and paid at the full standard fee under the signed client recruiting agreement.

Three-Month Free Replacement

If a placement billed and paid at the full standard fee separates for a qualifying reason within the first three months, Construction Headhunters will conduct one replacement search for the same or substantially similar position at no additional professional recruiting fee.

Months Four Through Twelve: Half-Fee Replacement

If the hire separates during months four through twelve, the client receives one replacement at half the standard professional fee. Applies only to original placements billed and paid at the full standard fee.

Eligibility, exclusions, notification requirements, payment requirements, and replacement terms are governed by the signed client recruiting agreement.
