Our approach

Power and electrical project experience

We recruit electrical engineers for construction, utility and power projects, including protection and control roles. Search criteria identify the system, project phase and responsibility the new hire will own.

Our approach

Protection and control coordination

Candidate discussions may cover substation interfaces, relay and control systems, drawings, equipment coordination and construction or commissioning support. We distinguish the employer's design, engineering and field requirements rather than treating every electrical role alike.

Our approach

Qualifications tied to the assignment

Licenses, training and technical qualifications depend on the position and governing requirements. We confirm those needs directly and assess project experience, communication and coordination relevant to the work.

Our approach

Local and traveling power talent

Our network includes local electrical professionals and candidates willing to travel 100% for power and construction assignments. We clarify site time, project coverage and travel expectations before an introduction.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions.

Which electrical roles do you recruit for power projects?

We recruit electrical engineers, project engineers, substation professionals and protection and control specialists. We define the project phase and technical responsibilities before outreach.

What does protection and control experience include?

The scope may involve substation protection, relay and control systems, drawings or construction support. We confirm the employer's project needs instead of assuming one standard role.

Do electrical engineers need a particular license?

Requirements depend on the work, jurisdiction and employer. We establish any required license or qualification during the search intake.

Can you find electrical candidates who will travel?

Yes, we recruit locally and from a nationwide network of professionals willing to travel 100% for assignments. Travel and site expectations are discussed in advance.

Which employers hire protection and control professionals?

Searches may support contractors, utilities, construction managers and power project teams. The candidate profile follows the hiring organization's role in delivery.

How does your contingency search work?

No professional recruiting fee is due unless we place a candidate the employer hires. The signed recruiting agreement sets the terms.

Relocation and travel

Relocation Placements

Over the last few years we've filled more and more positions with candidates willing to relocate on their own, or with minimal initial relocation help from the client. We always fill with local candidates when possible. But relocation placements are a specialty of ours, and we know how to make them work for clients who are committed to filling the position.

Placement protection

12-month replacement guarantee

On standard (non-reduced) fee agreements, every placement comes with a 3-month free candidate replacement guarantee. From months 4 to 12, we'll still replace the candidate at half off. That's a full year of coverage. We've never needed to use the extended guarantee.

Extended coverage applies to eligible placements billed and paid at the full standard fee under the signed client recruiting agreement.

Three-Month Free Replacement

If a placement billed and paid at the full standard fee separates for a qualifying reason within the first three months, Construction Headhunters will conduct one replacement search for the same or substantially similar position at no additional professional recruiting fee.

Months Four Through Twelve: Half-Fee Replacement

If the hire separates during months four through twelve, the client receives one replacement at half the standard professional fee. Applies only to original placements billed and paid at the full standard fee.

Eligibility, exclusions, notification requirements, payment requirements, and replacement terms are governed by the signed client recruiting agreement.
